Defender treatment
Protect the stone.
Without hiding it.
Advanced performance for marble, with full respect for its natural character.

What Defender is
Protection starts from the slab.
Defender is a treatment we apply directly to the slab, before the stone becomes a kitchen worktop, a shower surface or a piece of furniture.
We apply it to every type of marble to increase its protection in everyday use, while preserving its natural look.
The process
72HA process that takes time and control.
After application, every Defender slab must cure for 72 hours under precise, controlled temperature and humidity. Only at the end of this cycle is it ready to become part of the project.
Application
The treatment is applied directly to the slab.
Controlled curing
The stone rests for 72 hours at defined temperature and humidity.
Ready for fabrication
The slab is ready to become a kitchen worktop, a shower surface or a custom element.
Performance
Natural stone, ready for everyday life.
It does not absorb.
High resistance to food stains: wine, coffee, oil and other everyday liquids stay on the surface and wipe away easily, without soaking into the stone.
The protection also covers acids — lemon, vinegar, limescale removers — which on untreated marble leave not a stain but an etch mark, corroding the surface.
High heat resistance.
The treatment protects the worktop from direct heat sources, with no marks or visible changes to the surface.
Food-safe.
The treated surface is food-safe: you can prepare your food directly on the worktop.
See it for yourself
You see it right away.
Treated slab and untreated slab, side by side on the same material: the difference is immediate — no words needed.
Applications
Not just kitchen worktops.
Defender can be applied to marble destined for kitchens, showers, bathrooms, furniture and other surfaces that see frequent use.
Frequently asked questions
Does marble stain? It is almost always the first question.
-
Untreated marble is porous: wine, coffee, oil and other everyday liquids soak into the stone and leave a mark that never comes out. It is the reason many people give up on marble exactly where they want it most — the kitchen.
A slab treated with Defender does not absorb: the same liquids stay on the surface and wipe away easily.
-
On untreated marble, yes — and it is a damage different from staining, called etching: acids are not absorbed, they react with the stone and corrode its surface. They leave no colour but a dull etch mark, visible even after cleaning, because the polish in that spot is gone. It is the mark people fear most, and the reason marble is so often advised against in kitchens.
Defender protects against acids too, not just stains: a drop of lemon or a spray of limescale remover does not touch the treated surface.
-
Since liquids stay on the surface, they wipe away without scrubbing and without the aggressive products that risk dulling the finish on untreated marble. The treated surface is also food-safe: you can prepare food directly on the worktop.
-
Granite is harder and less porous, which is why it gets recommended more often for kitchens. But marble has a pattern granite simply does not have — and that pattern is what you are after when you choose marble.
The treatment changes the terms of the comparison: a treated slab does not absorb, withstands heat and is food-safe. So you can choose marble for what it looks like, without giving up everyday use.
-
No — they are two different things. Defender is a preventive treatment: it is applied to the slab before it becomes a worktop or cladding, so the problem never appears. Marble already dulled by use needs to be repolished first, which is a separate job.
-
Defender is applied to the slab, before fabrication, and the stone then cures for 72 hours at controlled temperature and humidity: conditions no building site or fitted kitchen can guarantee. That is why the right moment to decide is when you choose the material — not after.
-
It can be applied to every type of marble, and it does not alter the natural look: colour, veining and finish remain those of the stone. That is the whole point — protect it without hiding it.
Beyond kitchen worktops we use it on showers, bathrooms and furniture, the surfaces that see frequent use. It also covers the more complex work: a bookmatched composition or a curved surface can be treated like any other slab.
Real stone.
Better protected.
